First a little background about this trip. As you probably remember, I currently live in Boston. This trip is a result of a number of fortuitous coincidings (yes I know that may not be a real word, but it fits). My friend Whitney is going to school up in Buffalo, NY. This past week another of my friends, Russell, came out to New York City to do some research. Finally, a third of my friends, E'leesha, is also coming out here. We all decided to meet up in Washington, DC to do some sightseeing.
Yesterday (Thursday), I hopped on the Chinatown bus leaving Boston around 1 pm. I was surprised to run into a couple of girls from my ward on the bus. It made the trip a little less boring to have someone to talk to. We hit some heavy traffic and a couple of rainstorms on the way down, but finally made it in to New York City about 6:30. There I met up with Russ. We had a multi-city dinner (pizza from New York and cannolis from Boston), and then caught the bus going to DC.
We arrived in DC around 11:30 pm and walked to the place we were staying. For this trip we (Russ and I) decided to stay in the Hostelling International Hostel. For those of you who don't know, a hostel is like a hotel, but is usually geared towared students and you share rooms. The HI Hostel turned out to be a gereat place in a great location. Here is a picture of the room we stayed in:

Yes, my bed is the messy one. We were both tired enough that we just crashed that night. I'm writing this as Russell makes somewhat comical attempts at waking up (those of you who have lived with him know what I mean).
Well, that's about it for the first day. I should finish this up so we can go see some sights. More tomorrow.

You like cannoli? I think they are yucky. Give me a nice napoleon or an eclair the size of a hogie and I would be happy. And why import the Italian pastries when you could go to Vaccaros? There are stores in 2000 Penn or Union Station, so you don't have to go to little Italy in Baltimore. They even have cannoli cake if you wanted.
